The JK-12 Expansion of Hillbrook Campaign
Opening Doors represents more than a campaign - it's an almost 100 year commitment to growth, inclusion, and the belief that when doors are opened, lives are changed.
With student-led learning, academic excellence, and our demonstrated commitment to social impact, no school compares to Hillbrook. We believe all students deserve to have an extraordinary educational experience in high school that builds upon the exceptional foundation we provide for our JK-8 students. With this vision, we founded Hillbrook Upper School in March of 2022.
We're in the final stretch of our incredibly ambitious campaign. And, to help us reach - and surpass! – our goal, 10 of our nearest, dearest, and longest tenured supporters, including trustees and alumni families, have put forth a $500k challenge gift to inspire our entire community. We have $250k left to raise.
As of September 1, 2026, we have raised a total of $17.4M. We invite you to be part of this transformative effort. Together, we can open doors to new possibilities and create a lasting legacy.

Moments & Milestones
Our neighborhood is our third classroom - and we had a blast exploring last year.

Our beautiful new building is filled with natural light from the central skylight - we loved seeing our students find new places to study, chat, and hang with friends.

Fall Immersives took our entire student body on a journey through downtown San José, with tracks covering everything from food justice to civic engagement to Art for Impact.

At our first-ever Mechanical Circus, Upper School students built real toys imagineered by 3rd graders!

Physics and mechanical engineering meet in the middle for a unique challenge with real-world impact: building simple machines that help conserve energy.

Our fall Exhibition of Learning put our students' talents on full display.

The annual Impact Challenge invited 10th graders to tackle a challenge question put forth by community partners in downtown San José.
