Welcome to Hillbrook School, a junior kindergarten-8th grade independent, co-ed school!
Since 1935, Hillbrook School has called its beautiful 14-acre campus in Los Gatos home. Join us for a tour of our campus and classrooms and experience a uniquely different experience that meets each child where they are and provides opportunities for engagement and connection in ways they won’t get anywhere else.

Step 1: Get to know Hillbrook.
Hillbrook’s beautiful 14-acre campus invites students to run, explore, and grow. Hillbrook’s strong foundation in student-centered learning means that we meet every child where they are, giving them the tools to be the best version of themselves. To be kind, be curious, take risks, and be their best. Learn more about our community by watching "Hillbrook Families Know."

Step 2: Learn about The Hillbrook Way.
At Hillbrook, we believe tomorrow’s leaders and innovators are born from an educational experience that re-imagines the school model of yesterday. Our inspiring team of world-class educators place creativity and critical thinking at the center of a journey that will lead students on a lifetime of asking questions, collaboration, and creating solutions for a better tomorrow, all grounded in a love of learning and desire to make a difference in the world.

What can your child achieve with a Hillbrook education? Anything they want.

The Hillbrook Reading Room
Located in the Hillbrook Tower, a Los Gatos historic landmark and our oldest structure on campus, Hillbrook’s Reading Room has served many purposes over the years. A photograph over the fireplace depicts a time where the Reading Room served as the music room, where students gathered around the hearth and performed for each other. This space was also home to the Hillbrook Woodshop (woodworking is still alive and well - and now happens in the Art Studios).

Tucked away from the everyday bustle of campus life, the Reading Room offers students a cozy, welcoming, and calming place to curl up with a book, whether on the overstuffed cushions or in the warmth of the cheery fireplace.

Situated across from the Reading Room, the ceramics studio provides a bright and airy space for students’ artistic curiosity and collaboration to take wing. Our ceramics studio also benefits from double doors that open up, providing spill-out space so that projects are (un)limited only by our students’ creativity.

The Hillbrook Gymnasium is an active and well-used campus destination, home to P.E. classes (in rainy weather), practices, and games for our Hillbrook athletics teams. This space also holds an indoor stage and backstage classroom spaces. Each year, the Gym is the epicenter of Hillbrook's JK-8th Grade Art Show and is transformed into a gallery walk that showcases a wide variety of student artwork. Finally, flexible stadium seating folds down for performances and games, enabling us to host audiences of all sizes for a variety of events, traditions, and performances throughout the year.

Hillbrook’s Science Labs were re-imagined as a part of the recent “Be Your Best” Capital Campaign for Hillbrook to highlight flexible classroom features including movable whiteboards and the pulley system that helps our JK-2nd graders learn and experience forces in motion. Ample and durable workspaces enable students to experiment and theorize at work stations and countertops that are sized just for them.

Our Middle School Science Lab offers a flexible learning environment, including movable whiteboards that wheel away to reveal a presentation screen and movable storage shelves that roll away to maximize on both storage and usable space in the classroom. In fact, you might see Hillbrook Middle Schoolers’ aquaponics system housed in the space lining the wide windows that provide a supply of natural light throughout the day.
Thanks for joining our virtual tour of Hillbrook School!
