Flexible Tuition at Hillbrook

Our Commitment

Flexible Tuition strengthens our community by making a Hillbrook experience and education accessible to families from diverse economic backgrounds, strengthening the educational experience for each of our students. This philosophy has been a part of our school’s culture since 1935, when our first class of students came together from a variety of circumstances and backgrounds to live, learn, and thrive together at Hillbrook.

Hillbrook is committed to making a private school education accessible to all families, a key way that our school connects with and lives out our mission and vision. One key way we do this is through Flexible Tuition, our financial assistance program funded by the entire Hillbrook community.

How Does Flexible Tuition Work?

Flexible Tuition is offered to a family based on individual need. Approximately one-third of our families pay a tuition rate that differs from the highest rate of tuition.

The highest tuition rate at Hillbrook for the 2025-26 school year:

Lower School (grades JK-4): $45,500
Middle School (grades 5-8): $47,500
Upper School (grades 9-12) $61,000

Eligibility for admission to Hillbrook is determined independent of an application for Hillbrook's Flexible Tuition Program.

HOW TO Apply for Flexible Tuition:

Hillbrook partners with Clarity to process and manage Flexible Tuition applications - to get started, please download the Clarity App (or visit their website), create an account, and select "Hillbrook" as your school. The application typically takes less than 30 minutes to complete, and you can save your progress at any time.

There is a $60 fee per family, and Flexible Tuition is shared with admission decisions to admitted families. Please visit our quick guide below, or find a more comprehensive version here.

Initial Application Requirements

Families who choose not to apply for Flexible Tuition at the time of their initial application to Hillbrook will not be eligible to apply for Flexible Tuition in future years unless there is a significant and unforeseen change in their financial circumstances. Examples of qualifying changes may include the loss of employment, medical emergencies, or other extraordinary financial hardships.

Annual Re-Application

Families who are awarded Flexible Tuition are required to reapply annually and demonstrate continued financial need. Flexible Tuition awards are subject to review and adjustment each year based on updated financial information and available funds. This policy ensures that the Flexible Tuition Program is managed equitably and sustainably for all families in our community.
